This monthly Makerspace Sewing Program will provide an introduction to sewing with easy stitches and projects that can be completed in one program/event.


Designed for 6th grade to adult, all skill levels are welcome to attend.

Large Hot Pad/ Pot Holder


Join us to sew a hot pad to add a touch of color to your fall table.   The tutorial is for a 13” x 9” hot pad, but the same basic techniques can be used for potholders, placemats, and table runners.

Materials list:

 

13” x 9” piece of batting

13” x 9” piece of Insul Bright (or second layer of batting)

13” x 9” fabric for the top

16” x 12” fabric for the bottom

Note: Indoor/outdoor fabrics should not be used for this project.  They have a coating that won’t play well with high heat.

 

Water soluable or disappearing ink fabric marker.

Sewing machine if possible

A limited number of sewing machines will be available for your use.

Twist Pillow
A simple twist is all it takes to create the texture on this pillow. It's a great technique that you can use on a skirt or a bag. Join us for this easy and fun project.

1 fat quarter or one piece of 18 x 23 inches for the front - Any small print or solid
1 fat quarter of 15 inch square for pillow back
1 14 inch pillow form
